St Michael’s is an Anglican church, located between the main campus of Victoria University of Wellington and Kelburn village. Mostly, we're students, academics, and graduates (and their kids!), who value being in a community of like-minded Christian pilgrims. We aim for an ancient–future vibe, which means we find the centuries of Christian thought and devotion help us navigate the complexities of twenty-first century life.
The heart of our life together is Sunday worship. During the pandemic, these happen online.
Our community is like a slice of the New Zealand bush: some of us have responded to God’s call to be in this neighbourhood for a long time, to sustain a Christian witness here. We’re like the tōtara, who grow from small saplings into mature trees, and so provide a shelter for new saplings and birdlife …
