EASTER UPDATE 2026:
"Maundy" Thursday, 6pm, in the church. Middle Eastern themed potluck meal, shading into a commemoration of the last supper.
Good Friday, 12 noon until 3pm:
In the church, a 3-hour, come and go meditation at the foot of the cross, featuring poems, mini-sermons, and live music by J.S. Bach. You can join and leave at any time.
In the hall, "Kids' Guide to Easter", a rolling programme of games, hot cross bun making, and telling of the Easter story. Again, you can join and leave at any time.
Easter Day, 10.30am in the hall. No 9am service this day. Bring flowers to decorate the cross.
Ordinarily, two main worship services happen at St Michael’s, at 9am and 10.30. Here we glimpse the beauty of the God revealed as Trinity, and are formed as followers of Christ.
Our 9am service is a quiet, liturgical communion service, with a friendly trip to the cafe afterwards. Some weeks, we sing hymns; others we don't.
Our 10.30am service, in the hall, is cheerful and friendly, combining old and new forms in music, liturgy and preaching. Sunday School classes begin in church before heading out for their own programme.
For our Summer Services, beginning on Christmas Day and running through January, our services are at 10am, and held in the church hall for reasons of capacity.
NOTE: as above, on Easter Sunday, we usually hold a combined service to bring our 9am and 10.30 congregations together at 10.30am. Please check our facebook page to make sure of the time. It's usually at 10.30am, but if you come at 10am you definitely won't be late!!
